SUMMER 2017 INTERN
Hey! We’re Melt Goods, a fashion brand that sells minimalist + geometric jewelry handmade by resettled refugee women in Dallas, Texas. We believe in good times and great design. Founded in 2016, we’re hustling and bustling to get this biz off the ground and running. There are currently three of us on the team - Meredith (the founder), plus Huda and Saja, two refugee rockstars who resettled from Iraq to Texas. The goal of Melt is to provide sustainable + happy jobs for refugee women, while educating and inspiring other businesses to do the same. We are looking for a superstar like Y-O-U to help us execute all our great ideas! It will be lots of work, but the benefit of empowering and building relationships with women in the refugee community is worth. it. all.
We’re looking for energetic, detail-oriented, and outgoing individuals who are interested in business strategy, merchandising, customer relations, marketing, and sales. Intern will participate in a variety of aspects related to our growing brand. This internship is an unpaid, part-time staff position with a commitment of 15-20 hours per week. We’ll also offer you school credit, if you’re into that kind of thing.
A background in business, public relations, entrepreneurship, retail merchandising, or communications is preferred
Strong oral and written communication
Must be able to work on weekends for events/markets
Must be able to work independently, learn quickly, and be self-motivated
Experience with photo, video, and the Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Create content for social media and website
Assist in developing and executing a marketing strategy
Assist with markets - design, promotion, set up/tear down, and sales
Assist with all the fun business-y tasks, like inventory management, accounting, and market research
Misc. errand-running, like picking up and delivering jewelry supplies
